London: Southern Brave has become the first champion of the Hundred, thanks to fine innings from Ireland batsman Paul Stirling (61) and Ros Vitaly (44*). The final match of The Hundred was played between the Southern Braves and the Birmingham Phoenix at Lord’s on Saturday. Phoenix captain Moeen Ali won the toss and elected to field first.

Southern Brave scored 168 runs in 100 balls for the loss of 5 wickets, thanks to the innings of Sterling and Vitaly. In reply, Birmingham Phoenix’s team could only manage 136 runs for 5 wickets in 100 balls.

In this way, Brave won the match and title by 32 runs. Ireland batsman Paul Stirling was adjudged the player of the match for his outstanding innings in the final. Sterling scored 61 runs in 36 balls with the help of two fours and 6 sixes.

Ali-Livingstone’s innings didn’t work

Chasing the huge target of 169 runs, Birmingham Phoenix started very poorly. Garten did not even allow David Bedingham to open the account and was caught out by David.
